I love being a Safe Zone Advisor. As a Safe Zone Advisor, I help gay, straight, bisexual, or transgender people understand and work through GLBT pride issues. It’s a really nice way to connect to students on a higher level because you’re helping them through real issues, and it’s really rewarding.

Congratulations, new graduates, and welcome to the Alumni Association! As a new Illinois State graduate, you are automatically a member of the Illinois State University Alumni Association, which is more than 180,000 alumni strong.

Other Services of Particular Interest to New Graduates

E-mail Forwarding Service
Due to the high volume of e-mail accounts the University manages, Illinois State ulids and e-mail accounts will be discontinued six months after graduation. New graduates are encouraged to set-up their e-mail forwarding address before they leave campus. Sign-up for the E-mail Forwarding Service

Insurance
Your Alumni Association sponsors a variety of insurance products. Of special interest to new graduates is the Grad Med® -bridge medical-program, short-term health insurance to tide you over until you get employer-provided insurance.

Students who are insured with Illinois State student insurance may continue coverage for one semester at the student rate. Payment is required prior to the 15th day of the following term (8th day summer). For more information on extending student insurance, contact the Student Insurance Office.

Find a Friend/Alumni Locator Service
The Alumni Association provides a Find A Friend service to help you reconnect and find friends from your time at Illinois State.

Alumni Events

The Alumni office sponsors or supports more than 100 events and activities for alumni each year. Keep a bookmark on this Web calendar and watch your e-mail for details!
